This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sunset. What started out as a psychedelic vision, soon became a gathering of kindred souls dancing in the park til the sun set. Since then it has morphed into a beautiful artistic community of conscious ravers we know and love today.

With the Full Moon coinciding with the Summer Solstice, this anniversary invokes the power of cycles, rhythms and the perfection of a full circle. The orb of the Moon, the Sun, and the Earth have been our guiding light from the beginning of Sunset’s inception. Sunset Sound System and the Sunset Campout continue to evolve, welcoming generation after generation to the embodiment of this unbroken circle.

On this weekend together, let's ponder how we move with the circle of time, honoring the flow of these cosmic orbs that guide us in our daily, monthly, and yearly cycles. They stay with us as we dance, celebrating the moment the Sun goes down, comes up, or the full moon rising over one of our gatherings —adding to the magic of these moments and the perfection of a circle.

Our theme Occasus Solis is Latin for Sunset. May it inspire you to find the Sunset within yourself. In the same vein as previous years, the theme is not a literal guide. Its intention is purely to invoke an abstract mental imagery or feeling you can draw upon for inspiration that connects us all for our amazing reunion in Belden.
